Chadstone Place is a highly externalised precinct within Chadstone Shopping Centre. It combines an active street with a new retail mall, fresh food and outdoor dining, as well as an office building. The Buchan Group created a new wayfinding system that gave definition to the precinct while maintaining a relationship to the larger Centre, borrowing from the existing wayfinding system but creating a more sculptural shape and form. This created a difference and a fluidity within the whole complex.
Chadstone Place integrates with an existing transport hub which includes a Transit Lounge for bus passengers. Environmental graphics for the Transit Lounge as well as new bus station identification and wayfinding totems were included in the project and were also designed by The Buchan Group.
