Nexus Towers

Gold Coast, Australia

Overview

Showcasing absolutely breathtaking views of the Surfers Paradise skyline.

The orientation and planning of the units has been designed to maximize the views. An integral part of the design is the distinctive form to the top of the towers.

This development comprises two towers of 21 and 27 levels, with retail and commercial spaces at ground level and car parking contained in two basement levels.

The existing church was not heritage listed, but was considered to be of some merit. In negotiations to buy the site, the developer agreed to recognise the cultural significance of the church in the design of the new development and contributed some funds towards the current refurbishment works. Initial discussions with the Council agreed a development strategy that incorporated a large public plaza facing Scarborough Street that significantly improved the aspect of the church.

The residential towers include a mixture of two and three bedroom units with two floors of home offices at the bottom of the north tower. The home office components have separate entries from the lift lobby. The towers are among the first of a growing list of new residential towers in the centre of Southport.
