A major upgrade of Melbourne The Rialto Intercontinental Hotel has revitalised the Ground Level and Upper Ground Level public spaces, conference spaces, and Restaurant/Bar facilities. A new partial floor was inserted into the Upper Ground Level void, creating a more generous scale to main entry public spaces.Other design features include a series of new connections to the exterior and new retail tenancies. The project was built by built by Equiset Construction and was completed in November 2008.
Melbourne The Rialto Intercontinental Hotel was the Winner of the Tourism and Leisure Developments Category in the 2010 Property Council of Australia Awards and was also awarded the inaugural Australian Hotel Architecture, Design & Development Awards for Best Refurbishment and Best Interior Design.
