Rolleston township’s central retail hub ‘Rolleston Square’ has been recognised with a Silver Award win at the New Zealand Commercial Property Awards for Stage 2 of the development.
A key destination for 18 thousand residents in the area, the environmentally aware centre provides convenience and destination shopping. Stage 2 of the planned staged expansion involved a land swap with the Warehouse to create a more cohesive retail development. The food and beverage offering was extended, including the addition of a spectacular outdoor heated glazed covered atrium providing customers with the option to dine outdoors year-round.
The site was developed in the middle of another contractors site which meant access and programming were worked through in detail to ensure safe access across the site and that programmed works could be carried out without delay, minimizing the impact on both consumers and retailers.
